It is soluble in water, slightly soluble in hot alcohol, and insoluble in ether. It is acidic and melts with decomposition at about 235°. Application The effective component of L-arginine hydrochloride is L-arginine. L-arginine is one of the eight essential amino acids in protein synthesis. The body needs it to perform many functions. For example, it stimulates the release of certain chemicals, such as insulin and human growth hormone. The amino acid also helps remove ammonia from the body and promotes wound healing. The body needs it to produce sarcosine. Nitric oxide is produced when L-arginine is broken down, so it can dilate vascular disease and increase blood flow. L-arginine hydrochloride is also an amino acid drug. After taking it, it can participate in the ornithine cycle, and promote the conversion of blood ammonia into the non-toxic urea through the ornithine cycle, thereby reducing blood ammonia.
